There was a time when I read the newspaper from cover to cover on a daily basis. I thought, even though I was of no great intelligence, it was a sort of duty for all able-minded people to stay well informed and aware.

I still do believe this, but the hyped-up, ghoulish style of reporting, the unnecessarily graphic images began to affect me in ways that did little good for me as a viewer, or I’m sure for those involved, and still left me uncertain…
